How it works

Three quiet steps, then your pet lives in your browser.

  1. Add photos

    Add 1 to 5 photos of your dog or cat. A side view and a face photo work best.

  2. Meet your pet

    About a minute later, your pet walks, sits and naps. Keep them, and we spend about 3 more minutes making them look even more like themselves.

  3. Every tab

    Add Pawsome Family to Chrome. Your pet follows you around, right at the bottom.

Quiet on purpose

Present enough to feel like family. Small enough to leave the page alone. Try the controls you get in the toolbar.

Rests when you do

Leave the mouse still for a couple of minutes and your pet curls up for a nap. In a background tab, they stop moving completely.

What is Pawsome Family?

A Chrome extension that turns a few photos of your dog or cat into a little animated pet. It walks, sits and naps along the bottom of every tab, and stays out of the way of what you’re reading.

Does it work for cats and mixed breeds?

Yes. Dogs and cats of any breed or mix. Your pet’s colors, markings and shape come from your own photos, not from a breed template.

What photos work best?

One to five clear photos of your pet in good light. A full-body side view and one of the face give the closest likeness.

What if my pet doesn’t look right?

You can fix it yourself. You see your pet before you sign up, and you can change the coat, ears, tail, pattern and eye color, or try other photos. After you keep your pet, you can edit them any time.

How much does it cost?

It’s free for 30 days for one pet, starting when you add it to Chrome, and no card is needed. After that it’s $7.99 a month, billed once a year at $95.88 with taxes included, for up to 5 pets. See pricing.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you paid for, and we give a full refund within 14 days of any yearly charge. Without a plan, your pet stays and naps in one corner of your tabs. See the refund policy.

Will it slow down my browser or get in the way?

No. Each pet is a tiny vector animation that sits along the bottom edge and rests when the tab is in the background. You can change its size or hide it on any site from the toolbar.

Can my family see our pets too?

Yes, with the same account. Add Pawsome Family to Chrome on another computer, sign in to your account, and your pets are there too. One pet walks at a time in each browser, and each browser can choose its own. There are no separate family logins.

What happens to my photos?

We only use them to draw your pet, and they are never shown publicly. Photos of pets you don’t keep are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete the rest any time while keeping your pet. See our privacy policy.

Which browsers does it work in?

Google Chrome on desktop computers: Mac, Windows, ChromeOS and Linux. Edge, Brave and Arc can also add extensions from the Chrome Web Store, so it may work there, but we only test with Chrome. It doesn’t run on phones or tablets.
